WFLA Staff — A온카지노LBUQUERQUE, N.M. (WFLA) — An Albuquerque police officer was placed on administrative leave while an Internal Affairs investigation continues.
Jonathan Broussard was sentenced Friday to 35 years in prison for killing his grandparents.
Broussard is the third Albuquerque police officer to be charged in a hit and run crash that killed seven-month-old baby Aiden.
Albuquerque resident Tony Hernandez had just finished dinner with his mom and his aunt and she was hit and killed by the vehicle. A couple months later, his sister, Jessica Hernandez, was killed when the vehicle she was on crossed a center line and struck her.
Prosecutors say Broussard’s friends were the only two people they considered family, but the officer, who often rode his motorcycle, acted alone. The court has yet to discuss if Broussard, 25, was intoxicated or not.
