It is based on a study by research company Medtronic which found that using the plant’s extracts on a single hairless human provided more results than an extract taken from the same cut-off hairs. The researchers, involved in the study, then tested extracts from the plants on other subjects.
While the new report does not prove that cannabis extracts are for treating skin and hair loss, it does suggest that they could work on treating conditions such as arthritis or inflammatory conditions and possibly even some forms of cancer.
Drug companies are being urged to drop the use of the word ‘drowsy’ to describe people who take cannabis. It is already illegal for people to possess or use the drug.
It has also recently been suggested that the government may attempt to criminalise ‘drowsy driving’, or sitting in a vehicle, without using a phone or headphones.
